Posted this on the X5 forum, but it may be emissions related. Looking at the network trace on the recall site, it says:
defectCode: "STOP025416"
defectCodeDescription: "F95 F96 G05 G06 G07 G09 G70 - VALVETRONIC"
recallType: "Emission"
I'm hoping it's just a software update that doesn't affect performance/reliability.
