The age of the dull, monotonous assembly line is expiring, at least in more advanced countries. At some point, those in China and other far eastern locales will see their work hours reduced, conditions improve, and life-styles enriched verses working 6-7 days and long hours, and the age of really cheap stuff will end, being replaced by still reasonable, highly automated assembly lines. Get a good education, either in a good trade school, or college, if you want to have a comfortable lifestyle; otherwise, you may only find a job at the local McDonalds. |

Excellent point and post, @jadnashuanh.
I actually have had the privilege of touring Spartanburg when I did my PCD last year. Two things stood out to me from the announcement, first that I hadn't thought of the people vs production increase, and second, that I didn't realize (or recall) there being that large number of employees despite the automation. As for education, that is good advice for today's youngsters. I'd rather be programming robots than doing their work as a grunt I am 32 and dropped out of high school, but I do ok. I wonder where this leaves the lonely X1. Will it move from Liepzig so that the entire X range will be produced in the good ole USA.…

I am not a fan of the X6 for a lot of reasons but the reality is it is a successful car on a global scale and doesn't cost much for BMW to develop because it is mostly an X5. I don't need to love every car BMW makes for me to love the M235i, M4 and M3.

Is there a 9 series in the works? A 960i to slot between the 7er and RR Ghost perhaps? |
