Workaround for weak wireless charging

Relatively low profile. The regular usb-a connector on the right side of the tray is only 1.5a which most of the magsafe chargers aren't happy with. This puts the phone far away enough that the car's wireless charging doesn't kick in but the NFC for digital key works just fine.

You'll also need a magsafe case for your phone. I used this one for my Pixel 7a:

Admittedly I don't know enough about the wireless charging, but while the built-in charger may not be charging the phone, could it be "charging" (or rather dumping heat) into the ESR charger and causing a fire hazard? If not, I could see myself using this setup without the charging at all and just as a phone mount.

I'll keep an eye on it. I'll be sure to test out leaving the phone out of the charger area and see if that magsafe charger is getting warm. If it is, then that could be an indicator of what you are describing.
