Alarm/Remote camera question

While doing some work on my car, my alarm went off a few times, and sent me notifications on the app that it had gone off, and had captured a still photo, as well as some video around the car while the alarm was sounding. Very cool feature.

The only thing now is, I cannot seem to delete those photo/video captures. I have downloaded them to my phone, and there is a tab to delete them, which I push, but they remain. I've tried many, many times, but they remain.

Any idea how to permanently delete them?

Have you restarted your phone/app? That clears up a lot of these issues. The app can be buggy.

So, is this "kind of" like the Tesla's Sentry mode, but for obvious reason not a continuous monitoring (due to standby energy needed), but the clips are only recorded "if" the alarm is triggered?

How's the quality of photo/video?

The quality is very good. 4 separate videos, one for each direction, plus a still photo at the time of alarm trigger.

I have 8 sets of these, and just cannot delete them.

There is a “delete all” button, which when pressed gives me a confirmation that they’ve been deleted, but they’re not!!

It’s driving me nuts.

Ive done all this on the app. I am going to dig into the idrive menus to see if I can delete in car.

I have a 2019 40i. How do I get my app to tell me when the alarm has been triggered?

I have a ‘23 LCI, and It just happens. I did not change any factory settings for it to work.

I just wish the log of events could be deleted.

This is how you set it up.

But be warned, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to delete the notifications, photos/video capture once sent!!

What does it say in the owners manual on how to delete them? There is a digital version of the owners manual embedded in iDrive that may be helpful. And you may be able to go directly to the area that explains it if you have the videos up and press the OPTION button next to the iDrive controller.

Thanks!!

It never dawned on me to try and delete the events (Photos & Videos) in the car.

As there is a "Delete All" button in the App, that is what I was trying. For some reason it never worked.

Went into the Drive Recorder app in the car, and boom, all deleted immediately.

Thanks again.
