X7 M50I exhaust
The X7 M50i sounds amazing
But out of curiosity have any of you guys messed around with the exhaust? New exhaust? |

There's always going to be someone who wants more, but honestly, for my taste, it's just enough to turn some heads but not be a menace. Sport+ full-throttle carving through the mountain roads sounds fantastic.

I guess I'm opposite. I have M50i on order.
But anyway I can reduce the exhaust sound? I have small kids, my next neighbors have small children. I hate to wake them up. |

You can set the sound profile to "reduced" - I have my wife's profile set to reduced and I have mine set to the sportiest sound in all drive modes. It's two different cars on startup/driving (startup especially). Very nice feature.

I get comments all the time how mean my X7M50i sounds. Especially at the pumps, that remote start gets thumbs up all the time.

Don't bother setting the sound profile to reduced. Get a dongle and code ASD off entirely. Fake noise is awful.
Something to note, I'm firmly in the "i like more rumble" group and i'm saying this. ASD is just that bad, and it's entirely pointless. Either camp, louder or quieter, should be killing ASD right in front of your salesperson, at the dealership, glaring in the general direction of BMW hq. For OP, you can code open the flaps, but that doesn't really do much inside the car. Going from the front, the x5m ducts + bmc filters and removing the charcoal filters gives you a nice little bump in sound that actually sounds decent.

I need to research the coding part. The last BMW I had required remote coding by a pro but it sounds like this is a DIY project now. Thanks! |

it's MUCH quieter with ASD coded off. With bimmercode it's a menu option. with bimmerlink it's a button.
bimmercode options: https://bimmercode.app/cars/g07/ intake silencer thread from the g05 pages: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ghlight=intake bmc thread from g05 engine/tuning subforum: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1793188 easy mode: PM ben from rg sport or roll the dice going direct. Either way works. The intake work definitely removes a bit of the sedate nature of the vehicle.
