Strange clear coat white patch

Im wondering if anyone could tell me if this is some clear coat damage to the paint or moisture trapped underneath clear coat.
Attempted to black out rear badges, used the wrong cloth to polish which resulted in scratching the paint slightly after de badging, buffed out the rest with polish and the next day the white spot was visible.
Anyone any idea?

What did you use to buff the scratches out?

If you wash the car, does it reappear? Curious if you are seeing dried up residue.

I used the 3000 grit wet sand paper then followed with maguires compound to polish things off..
Couple close friends have told me it very much could be going too hard and burning through the clear coat.
Luckily its hard to spot especially when the car gets some dust/dirt after a while.
Will eventually get it fixed professionally.

You blew through your clear coat which means no UV and weather protection. You should get that recleared ASAP before the paint starts going.

Clear coat has 1/2 the thickness of a sheet of paper, if that. You shouldn't use sand paper to polish it.

Yeah I think you burned through like others say. Why were you using the 3000 grit paper? I believe that's only used if you are touching up paint or removing orange peel.

Followed the steps and everything was great.. until the next morning where the white patch became visible.
