Mine installed OK. Not seeing any earth shaking improvements though. Let me know if you find any. Thanks

We have to make a habit of tagging these with 7, 8, 8.5. they are not cross applicable

This must be for iDrive 8.5, I presume.

That's odd, nothing in the My BMW app that shows the release notes?

I downloaded the update this morning. Only post upgrade issue involved my key fobs and Apple Wallet key - none of which were recognized by the car. I had to hold the key fob up to the steering wheel to turn on the car. Afterwards I drove a few miles and parked the car back in my garage. The car recognized the key fob after I parked in the garage.

I wish these over the air updates were as smooth as what I experience with our Tesla (purchased before we knew how awful of a human he is) and Rivian.

Had the same key problem but it went away on its own.

Is Elon that bad? Or is he crazy enough to be good? Alas, the way he is portrayed in the media is always negative. He’s been successful so far, even with the crazy kids drawing Cybertruck. Can’t always fault him for being an aggressive business man.

Hi Madsen203. I understand your counter viewpoint and time will obviously tell. That being said, I don't have much hope he will improve Tesla stock anytime soon.

I do root for his Space X project which has it's pros and cons. In the end it will take a joint venture between the federal government and private business/equity to explore space beyond the moon.

I think Elon is brilliant and his ethics are spot on. That being said, I made a quick $20k off Tesla stock a couple of years ago within a week or two. Erratic as heck. I told myself I would never put money into Tesla again. Totally playing with fire.

Probably reset driving history internally. I bet after a tank of driving around it will go back to where it was. When I first bought car, it consistantly said 500+ range. Now it’s closer to 440 and continues to drop slightly each fill up.

yep, most of the updates will reset fuel econ. mine typically goes to 600+ miles till empty on a full tank after an OTA. sadly reality is closer to the mid 400s.

This is what mine shows on the My BMW app for the update. Nothing too specific.

2024 X7 40i - build date 1/30/24

This will be our first remote software update.

03/2024.40 avail for my july build 2023 with idrive 8.0.
Looks pretty small, 288mb. The IFM sw update was part of the 11/2023 release as well, so the notes i think are exactly the same and just as useful as always /s
