The M3 has plenty of torque - you just have to be in the right gear , while the 1M does not need to be in the right gear for good acceleration.

The short wheel base of the 1M allows for quicker rotation, while the longer wheel base and aero of the M3 allows for increased straight line and lateral stability.

Driver skill makes more of a performance difference than the difference between the 1M and M3, so pick what you want and love most, and that will be the right car for you.
