I think you guys confusing steering effort with what AS actually does
It could be both or neither firm or light, but main idea of it is to change steering ratio
While no one can give us input of how it feels in term of effort and feedback, at least we should know that AS gives you better flexibility maneuvering large car in certain speeds
IMO, it should feel the same as regular steering plus the ratio change
P.S. I loved it on my 335i and on X6 50i i drove
