Strange, my car's update was really plug&play(changed them myself)
, apart from the fact that it needed some coding. (Which took the guy 2 minutes as he only changed the production year in the software, which he then loaded to the car.)

And 10000$? madness! You can get a brand new set on eBay.de for 1/5 of that price, and sell the old set for half of that... in total I paid 1000$ for the upgrade..
