Thanks to all for the suggestions. I got the iPod Touch and have been adding music, some video and photos of the grandkids. If I had deeper pockets, I'd get something more extravagant, but this gift is a lot better than the card we normally get him.

Yup! Just got there. I was in Ashburn a few days then took off the rest of the year.
I'll be back in January. The commute is not horrible so far and I enjoy the change of pace of being able to listen to more than one song, and of driving on highways to go to work.
My mpg jumped from < 20 mpg to ~27 mpg with the "mostly highway" miles. I am getting less time with the kids, though, and it may eventually wear me out. I'll take it day by day. My previous commute was 3 miles one way. Now it's 20.
So when are we getting together for lunch? I need to find my way around Ashburn.
