Not sure if anyone is still looking for a solution to this, but if you're not comfortable flashing your own ECU, here is another option.

My ASD stopped working after software update to 18-03-530. ASD will be throwing a fault code as reported in multiple other posts.
Ask your dealer to re-flash the car (most dealers will be unable to re-flash only one ECU and will have to reprogram the entire car).
BMW has a technical notice out for Gxx-series cars acknowledging the ASD not functioning after software update.

Now, this will still NOT solve the problem, because due to a bug in BMW's software, after re-program, there will be no faults but ASD is muted. The dealer can just go into ISTA and disable muting for ASD.
And voila! ASD should be functioning as normal.
