If anything, I would be guessing the changes stated in the EU relate to the particulate filter. I remember reading that they had to slightly increase boost pressure to maintain the power rating with the GPF. If that is the case, this implies more fuel consumed and more CO2 emissions.

I'm happy that I got my car last year though
(given the drive shaft update, particulate filter and updated CO2 levels)
