Maybe it depends what you’re used to. I’m coming from an active hybrid 5 series with 20” rims. It was relatively quiet but crashed over any imperfections in the road. Now I’m in an X7 diesel with 22” inch rims. Other than spaciousness my first impression of the car was the ride quality. For me, it’s incredible compared to the AH5. As for road noise, in comfort mode the X7 is almost silent in most conditions other than engine noise during hard acceleration. In Sport plus, in a tunnel with the windows down and foot to the floor, it’s noisy in a good way!
