Towing was outstanding!
Fast forward a few months, traded the F150 8 cylinder for the X7 40. I towed my 5K lb boat 5 hours and wow, it was way better than the F150 - I almost didn't know it was back there at times!
Few highlights
- air suspension automatically adjusted to the load and leveled it out perfectly.
- X7 knew it was towing and seemed to adjust braking and shift patterns correctly
- acceleration was great, really impressed, braking was fine too
- really stable, didn't sway
- engine was quiet even at steep grades - F150 would scream (8 cyl, 6 would have been better)!
- way better than i expected!
Next up - taking the 6,500 pound camper out in a few weeks with weight distribution hitch and brake controller needed for that. I'll post back there.
