EV charger 'tech' is nothing more than wiring that connect the car to the grid. The only 'fancy' bits is software that means you can control charging times to make use of things like solar PV/etc, though most EVs can control their charging directly.

I charge my car off a 32amp commando socket 50% of the time.

Also worth noting what we call a 'charger' is actually just the supply (it's really called an EVSE - Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment), and its job is to connect and disconnect the high current safely. The charger doing all the hard work is the AC charger inside the car.
