Data point (Extended Warranty): 96m/100K miles [96 Months "an additional 4 years" (total of 8 years when added to 4-years factory) and 100K Miles, Full (Bumper to Bumper) Coverage, $100/visit deductible after the 4th year]
Cost: $3,750 before taxes

IMPORTANT Note to everyone: make sure you understand what you are paying for when buying a warranty. Some dealers present a 48 months as if it is 48 months from the day you sign )(aka, if you buy it 3 years before your factory warranty expires , you are only getting/buying 1 YEAR effectively). Some dealers present 48 months as 48 months from the day the factory warranty expires, which is then a TRUE 4-year warranty. All what matters is the START and EXPIRATION date of the warranty, not just the length. Do not fall in these traps by some dealers. My warranty above is a good example. It is a 96 months warranty, but it is a true 96 months that equals 48 months extension, because the 96-months clock starts from day 1. Hence effectively the 96 months warranty is a 48 months (or 4-years extension) from the day factory warranty expires, which is still an awesome deal giving me 8 years of coverage for just $3,750.

I see a 48 months and 60 and 72 months warranties above, but they are not specifying if that means X months from the vehicle 1st owner purchase date, or X months from the warranty contract signing date or X months from the date the factory warranty expires.
