Keep in mind that while 2/32 is legal minimum, many tests have shown the water dispersing capabilities of tires is mostly if not all gone once tires reach 4/32 tread. So at that point if it rains, it can hydroplane very easily.

So in areas prone to rain, it's best to replace once they reach 4/32
