I think the pause of the SUV seats may play a role, cause our seats in our former 5-series were really extremely comfortable.

I had Sensafin on my 24 X5 without massage/ventilation and now merino leather on my X7 with massage/ventilation. The X5 seats (as the driver) felt more soft but I started to like X7 seats too. Have had it for only 2 weeks but maybe over time they become softer. One issue with sensafin I had was the plastic smell. It takes a while for the smell to go away.
