I've settled on Stage 1 with the stock shift points as it's the smoothest for the journeys I do. I know Stage 1 more or less feels stock, but the advantage is you can still set the torque limits per gear, which removes the torque limiting flat spots of the stock map.

I agree. I had mine set at stage 3 for a bit and the shifts are rapid and in sports plus mode. But if felt like the gearbox was going to drop out of the car haha!
I've got it set on stage 2 now with relaxed+ shift maps in comfort & a slightly more sporty shift map for the more sporty modes. This feels more fitting to my Remapped 430d and make use of the big torque.
