With all due respect to tradition, I would rather be bothered by whether or not the particular frame looks good to you with consideration of the visual flow of the car as a whole. I think the mere presence of the kidney shaped grilles should take care of the tradition part anyway. It seems even BMW could care less about the chrome frame tradition if they are offering a shadowline one for this car.
