The shade in our X5 lasted exactly 1 trip in 3 years, it's been sitting in my garage collecting dust and awaiting lease turn-in day ever since.
By the way, there is a
lot of extra space in those two rear-well compartments, I could get a medium sized nylon duffel in there with ease, perhaps a backpack or a soft-sided cooler in that compartment as well.
The amount of wasted space in storing those heavy covers is much better served on something else IMO. Especially when there is practically no luggage space with 6 or 7 passengers.
