Who redesigns every 5 years? I can name a pile of models that haven't been redesigned in 10 years or more, nobody does it every 5 years, 7-10 is maybe the average.

7th model year? Most automobile manufactures, at least in the US, completely redesign their models every 5 years. Refreshes usually happen in the 3rd to 4th year with the 5th year being the final version for the model before a complete redesign.
