Bottas is out, no stewards clearance. Williams will have one car in the field.

Quote:
Valtteri Bottas has been deemed unfit to take part in the Australian Grand Prix after injuring his back during qualifying.

The Finn reported the problem during Q2, but continued to take part in the session qualifying sixth. However, after being examined at the circuit, Bottas was transferred to hospital where he spent the night.

He was given further tests on Sunday morning, including an FIA extraction test, but the governing body deemed him unfit to race.

Williams will thus only field one car, with Susie Wolff unable to deputise having not driven the car during one of Saturday's sessions.

Should Bottas be unable to drive in Sepang in two weeks, reserve driver Susie Wolff or reigning GP3 Champion Alex Lynn are the likely replacements.
