I have a 30 mile commute. It doesn't make sense to drive a RWD turbo coupe 365 days of the year.

Whew, I disagree. Driving a car like that makes the commute tolerable, for me. I mean, I used to drive a manual 911 in Los Angeles every day! It must be some kind of personality thing. I'd rather sit in stop and go traffic with a manual, because it gives me something to do, rather than being bored to tears, and finally getting off that highway to find even a single fun turn makes it worth it.

Yep. There's nothing mundane about driving a great car in a traffic jam. Cars are made to be driven in all types of driving. What is mundane is thinking one's commute is somehow "not good enough" for a car. An absurd idea.
Think less about how to live and live more.
