The stock amp is crap by the way.
If I had a choice between speakers and the amp changing the amp
makes the most difference.(although stock speakers are not far behind
on the crap scale)

I really appreciate your expertise and input here. This is the real value of forums like this for me and many others. I don't disagree with anything you are saying and just ask questions in an effort to understand this audio maze a little.
So to recap, here is what I think I need to get done and please correct me if I am wrong in any way:
1). Keep my Morel Hybrids up front exactly where they are.
2). Replace the stock underseat woofers with a better quality aftermarket pair of subs such as Match or Jehnerts or Gladen.
3). Replace stock rear speakers with a pair of decent quality 1 way coaxial speakers.
4). Use my existing JL 900 amp to power the front Morel's, the upgraded underseat subs and my sub in the trunk.
5). Buy another amp to power the new rear speakers.
Does this sound about right?
