The difference was that the E65 ( which is ugly ) and the E60 ( which is damn cool in M5 version ) is that they really were a modern design. There was nothing like it out there, you couldn't say it looks like a mix of this and that existing car. Dame Edna's glasses, yep but it was still fresh. This X7 exterior looks like a mess of existing cars with a gross grill attached. That said if BMW do a similar cleanup between this concept and the production model as they did between the E65 and E60 you could very well be right. But as it is? I have doubts...
