The X7 is so tall that I can barely notice the roof rails at all, surely most SUV's and cars on the road can't see them either.
And if ever you have 6 (Captain's) or 7 (Bench) passengers for a trip requiring baggage you're going to need a cargo box anyway, wouldn't be very wise to eliminate that eventuality.
