Well, not quite. Going from the 5er sedan to the 7er sedan, you get a whopping 8 additional inches of legroom in the 2nd row. A whole different level of luxury. Of design. Of little gizmos and car features. The 7 is not a knockoff of the 5, much less the same interior dimensions. The 7 is a truly luxury, stretch-out and relax vehicle. A BMW flagship.

In contrast, Going from the X5 to the "flagship" X7, you get the exact same cockpit design. Same dash. Same shifter console. Even the same crystal shifter knob availability. And an additional 0.2 inches of 2nd row legroom, which is the smallest of all the 2nd row legrooms on the jumbo SUV market.
