Press Driving Impressions - C&D and Autoblog

Looks like the press embargo got lifted:

The C&D review doesn't really say much editorially beyond briefing materials - seems it must have been a short drive:

"On the roads carefully selected by BMW for this first drive, we never really got to test Nowicki's assertion that the X7 handles the way a BMW should. This encounter consisted of long stretches on South Carolina's two-lane roads and flat interstates where, at freeway speeds, the behemoth at least managed not to list like the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, even if its variable-ratio steering felt slightly overboosted in low-speed driving."

"The X7's interior is some of BMW's best work yet. The large windshield and sensibly sized pillars provide an expansive forward view. For a price, the front cupholders can be heated and cooled, nearly every surface can be covered in leather, and the shifter and other controls can be spec'd in glass. Even the plastics feel a notch above the competition's. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen renders crisp images and is easy to operate via a finger on the touchscreen or with the familiar iDrive control knob. We're not fans of the opposing swings of the speedometer and tachometer on the digital instrument cluster, though. Fortunately, physical buttons still exist to manage most HVAC controls."
