The X suffix is for xDrive only. It includes a new crush washer for the metal drain plug. Without xDrive the Z suffix is the correct filter. It includes a new plastic drain plug, which are single use only.

Maybe. It must have the correct crush washer or plastic drain plug per above. Also, numerous reports of cap leaks have been traced to the new cap O-rings with other than OEM brands being the wrong size. OEM brands are no more expensive and work just as well as off-brands, so there's no reason for not getting the real thing.
