I agree with you on this one. My wife and I wait for our X7 to lower every time before exiting the vehicle but if we or a passenger opens a door, it stops lowering until all doors are closed. Annoying!
The 2020 Mercedes GLE (equipped with the $8,100 E-Active Body Control suspension) lowers automatically when the engine is stopped. It sure seems like a reasonable option the engineers could have included with the X7.
