I also thought that, but when I asked my dealer if their techs could do it, was told that they are not allowed to as it is a "government requirement" and if I had it done it would void the warranty :{
Honestly, I could probably adapt to the slight lag in restarting, but I worry about the wear & tear on the starter.
The killer, here in Texas, is the reduced cooling when the engine is off. Not what you expect when you've bought a "luxury" vehicle.
