Pushing down on the Menu/AC button brings up the 'menu' for temperature on the iDrive screen but does not work as a sync shortcut.
That said, all one needs to do is use the iDrive controller (don't touch the screen) to put the focus atop the 'Sync' function in iDrive and then Press + Hold one of the 1-8 Shortcut buttons and that is how one can create a one-touch physical button to enable Sync.
I have it on Shortcut button #1, works perfectly.
