Call it what you want, but more power, more capable suspension and brakes is a great formula for pretty much any vehicle up to the point of maintaining comfort and reliability. That's where the M Performance versions are often in the sweet spot for me. I don't want a big M SUV or luxury anything, but M2, M Roadster or M3/4 are great. The 5 series is borderline now, as is the X3/4. Sure I like the idea of full blown M but not for much more than pride vs outright capability of I'm being honest.
