I was thinking that while writing as well, time to look at some running boards for the F80 so I could lessen my leather conditioning regiment.
I said it in another thread as well, but my biggest reason for getting the running boards was to not have the kids stepping on the body-colored rocker panel cover that would be there otherwise (even still with an aftermarket solution). This was a plastic piece on the X5 we had previously so it wasn't horrible, but seeing anyone step on paint intentionally and routinely would have not done well for my blood pressure.
