That's not correct. My 2020 X7 has never been coded and it does the same thing. I special ordered my car. It's done the same thing the OP is describing since the day I took delivery.

There's another thread here somewhere that talks all about this. I believe it's by default so the driver can see what was behind them even if they pull forward. Especially after backing over/into something. If they pull forward they get a wider/longer view of area behind them.

I don't like it but the workaround for me is to press the camera button to the left of the gear shift. That brings up a separate, smaller screen that shows an Aerial 3D photo of your vehicle so you can see everything around you.

I'm on 07/2019.59 iDrive I believe. I've also reset iDrive multiple times. It still does it.
