There is nothing special about the Cayman or Cayman S's. Sorry.
I understand all the additional comfort of moving from a 1992 sports car and into a 2019 sports car, and it's easy for all us armchair advisers to pour love onto the NSX; but I'm sure living with it on a daily basis is an entirely different proposition.
We often forget the advances made in almost every area in the last 30 years of motoring, until you set foot into a historic sports car (or a modern lotus or Caterham).
But the Cayman or the Boxter is the Porsche you buy if you can't afford a 911.
Owning a 30 year old Cayman will be like owning a Nissan GTS-T ... it's special, but it'll never be a GT-R.
