We all know that the N5x water pumps are electric, relatively expensive and can fail without warning (though usually throw codes but no CEL if you're paying attention).

The thing is that all N5x water pumps aren't the same, and a "feature" of the N52KP engine (which I happen to have) was supposed to be the second generation waterpump. It's also unclear to me what effect the higher wattage pump and higher heat loading from the N54/N55 would have on pump life.

So, I thought I'd survey for failed and not failed with the different engine models and see if any trends arise.
