When I switched from run-flats on my M550 to conventional tires, the performance and ride improved significantly. I had to get both passenger side rims repaired as they had three cracks apiece just by driving around the city of Houston. Never cracked again on regular tires.

That’s why I went with 22s when I bought the XM to counter the eventual purchase of RFs which have a harsher ride. All my past vehicles all had RFs because I would rather have peace of mind as I put a ton of miles and don’t want to worry about pulling over anywhere…
