yes it allows 80% or 90% depending on the shade chosen.

I believe NY law allows tint on the rear windows and sunroof. I think the law only restricts the windshield and front windows.

Do they actually put a meter onto the front glass to measure it during inspection? When I used to live in that part of the country, all they did was look at it with naked eyes. Didn't use any meter.
With the 80 or 90 % tint, you can't really tell with naked eyes.

The rear windows might look dark, but they're not actually blocking much if any heat. Adding a tint to the rear and the sunroof will help keep interior temps low.

I have tint on all glass in the car and have no issues even in 115 degree weather. Kids and wife always complain the AC is too cold and ask me to turn the temp higher. (they sometimes use a jacket or blanket because it's too cold).
