Bringing this thread back.
Today, I way overestimated the traction on the roads with winter tires and slid about 70 feet when the light went yellow and I tried to brake. Wound up halfway into the intersection, fortunately light hadn't turned for the other direction yet, so no real issues, but still discomforting and embarrassing.
I got way too cocky with AWD and winters. Will not be making that mistake again. Have to say, it is one reason why I like RWD in the winter though - constant reminder of just how slippery it is as you struggle to get traction.
