Winter testing is testing. Where you have the chance to try things that might not really work out without any significant consequences.. well aside from the Media getting up in your grill about it I guess.

I recall Martin Brundle stated the new McLaren is garbage or something. And now what...P2 and P4...not too bad...
I like Speed's analysis on how Mclaren's approach on the new season. That they took the 2010 MP4-25 and test the Pirelli with it. which the only "unknown variables" will be the tires.
Then later in the Winter testing, they finally rolled out the MP4-26, which tires are no longer an "unknown variable", so the team and engineers can pin point exactly where to improve in the new chassis. Now think back...it all make sense.
