I had a professional install mine and he set up front and rear camera powered up by the accessory outlet in the rear and installed a battery to power unit while in parking mode. No issues as yet. He has had BMW try and get out of warranty issues when third-party installations are undertaken and believes that tapping into accessory outlet is the best thing he could do.
