I have a question I hope some one can help me with it. I have a 2015 528i F10 N20 Turbocharged.
I hear oil Changes should be done every 10,000 miles from the manual, the dealership, read in the oil liter bottles, and forums. However, my cars computer (Dash display) will prompt me for an oil change way before I ever reach 10,000 miles. The question is whom do I listen to the cars prompt to change the oil early or everything and everyone telling me it should be every 10,000 miles?

I just got the car, a CPO, from BMW. In less than 3 months and less than 5,000 miles; after being told I had 10,000 miles to go before an oil change was needed. My cars computer began warming me I had reach the 10,000 miles and needed an oil change.

I went ahead and changed the oil. I put in Liquimoly 10w40 LL1 as stated in the manual and have now driven less than 1,000 miles and i am again already getting a prompt telling me I have 7,000 miles until my next oil change. Way before my actual driven distance since the last oil change.

I will be sending this next oil change to Blackstone to find out for my self if my cars oil algorithm analysis is a gimmick or the real deal?

Or is the oil sensor malfunctioning?

Any one with some helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
