Very good decision! The M2 is sooo great as it is right off the showroom floor. Just schedule some track days looking to learn and have a good time.

In regards to tires another set of wheels with Michelin PSS or similar would be perfect! Showing up with a "track tire" when are first learning is a bad idea. You want to be able to learn how the car moves around, slides, good wet performance, etc. While track tires give better dry grip, they offer you less in the other areas making it harder to learn what is really important.

The best investment you can make is track time! Specifically, BMW CCA HPDE weekends.
