Is there something similar with our cars that doesn't involve pulling the battery cable and dealing with the associated drama? Searched but didn't find it.......

In short - Yes - F series TBA (throttle body adaption) reset, similar to E series TBA.

- Put the power on but do not start the engine.
- Floor the throttle for 30-60 seconds
- Keep the throttle to the floor and put the power OFF
- Release the throttle and wait 2 minutes.

During the 2 minutes you may feel or hear some kind of mechanical sound.

TBA is reset.

Test drive it.
