That being said, we know the upcoming X3 M will get an S58 with somewhere around 450hp (could be more, but certainly less than 500hp) in 2019. So, the use of this engine in the next M3 makes a great deal of sense. I personally consider this to be a near certainty. Similarly, the continued use of RWD and the option for a manual transmission also make sense and would jibe with what I would say is prevailing belief.

As always, I encourage everyone to stay tuned to BimmerPost for the latest on the next generation 3 Series (now just one year from debut) and M3 (about three years from debut).
