35d vs 35i
If you test drive the 35d with the 6 speed tranny back to back with the 35i with the 8 speed tranny the difference in smoothness and refinement between the two are night and day.
The diesel feels clunky and rough shifting, the gas vehicle is butter smooth and quite.
Further, if you compare the cost of each and the fact that diesel is selling for more at the pump you are really not saving any money.
SO what's the point?
Now a VW Passat TDI at 50 mpg... that's very compelling as a second car in a family.
