Yeah annoying it's not easy to add one, my last A4 had no dipstick but you could buy one from Audi for $30 if you preferred to kick it old school.
Unfortunately I've picked up a lot of little signs suggesting BMW doesn't really cater to the DIY enthusiast, more the mass affluent status-seeking zombies. Undoubtedly a good business decision, doesn't mean I have to like it though.
